Axial Threading Seminar

Where Is Thread Rolling Being Used

Where thread rolling is being used and incentives for rolling over cutting; Axial thread rolling heads may be used stationary or rotation on a wide variety of machine tools including; CNC lathes, Machining center, screw machines, Rotary transfer, drilling & tapping machines and special style machines.

Thread rolling is recognized as the fastest and most reliable method of producing quality threads. The cold forming rolling process produces threads by plastic deformation of the material. This in turn imparts high strength plus excellent surface finish, combined with improved wear and corrosion resistance. (Figure 2).

Axial thread rolling requires only 60% of the horse power required for thread cutting, while the high rates of material deformation required to roll threads has a benefit of very short cycle times.
